Visit the Forest

The food forest is an inclusive space for the community to learn, play, eat, and connect. It is open to the public anytime outside of school hours.

Here’s how you can enjoy the space respectfully:

~Start at the big community bulletin board for any news, activities or helpful information. Feel free to share your helpful related information on the community board.

~Please always LATCH the gates when you leave, to keep the deer out.

~All people are welcome, but please NO pets.

~Walk on the PATHS, not the plants.

~Watch for and stay out of any marked protected areas.

~Many plants are young and still require protection: the best way to experience plants up close is through your senses of sight, smell, and gentle touch.

~Many plants provide important food for pollinators and other small creatures who, in turn, provide services to the forest. It is important for humans to leave food for these important relatives and service providers.

~TASTE ME signs mean that this plant is abundant, safe and healthy for taste sampling in small amounts.

~HARVEST ME signs mean that these plants are abundant and available for people to harvest responsibly. If you do decide to harvest, please do so with care and respect: Never take any parts below the ground. Always leave 3/4 of the plant so that it can continue to grow. Cut the stem or leaf rather than tugging on the plant. Take only what you need.
